Twitter layoffs, Twitter Employees are getting fired. Twitter laid off more than 1000 thousand employees across the company on Friday.

In a serious round of reducing costs that could fundamentally alter how one of the most popular platforms functions just a week after being purchased by Elon Musk.

Twitter workers were notified in a corporate-wide email that layoffs would begin on Friday. Employees were asked to go home and not come to work that day.

The announcement comes after Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, tweeted that the service was undergoing in a huge decline in revenue as ad companies pulled their costs.

Musk has attempted cost-cutting while attempting to impose a demanding new work morality.

According to tweets from the social media company’s employees, teams responsible for communication links, information curation, human rights, and computer vision integrity, as well as some brand and technology teams were included in laid-off.

Twitter Inc was down half of its own workers on Friday but claimed that the layoffs were tinier in the team in charge of preventing the spread of mistruths.

Because of the content moderation concerns the advertisers cut back their spending.

To mitigate the layoffs, Elon Musk stated that everyone who was laid off was provided 3 months of redundancy pay which is 50% more than bound by law.

In the middle of massive layoffs at Twitter around the world, including in India, Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, justified the move on Saturday, saying there was neither any way when the company was lacking millions of dollars each day.

In the 2nd quarter that ended on 30th June 2022, the company posted a net loss of USD 270 million.

However, in the same period the previous year, Twitter was in a profit of USD 66 million.

Several employees filed an action against Twitter on Thursday, stating that the company was doing mass layoffs without providing the necessary 60-day prior notice, in breach of federal and California law.

The lawsuit demanded that a federal court in San Francisco make an order prohibiting Twitter from procuring laid-off employees to sign documents without notifying them of the case’s status.
